During these times of dwindling State budgets it has become increasingly important for Friends groups to step up and help our State Parks, Forests and Wildlife Management areas. FALPS has numerous opportunities for volunteers to help with various projects that benefit American Legion and Peoples State Forests. We’d love to have your help! If no projects are currently listed, contact us at  ctfalps@gmail.com or on our Facebook page and tell us what you’re interested in.

  • Tuesday, November 5, 9:30- noon. Meet at the entrance to Austin Hawes Memorial campground on West River Road. We will focus on installing bog bridges on the Henry Buck and Turkey  Vulture Ledges Trails. We will have to carry lumber and tools on the trail to the site. Depending upon the number of people available we may split into several groups. Please bring water, snacks, cordless drill. Work gloves and boots are a good idea. If the weather predicts showers we will probably still work. Cancellation will be by email so if there is a question check your email. We are hoping to get 6 high school students there to help us.
